A shooting in Flatbush Monday afternoon sparked a massive NYPD response, with investigators continuing to search for the suspect and piece together the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The shooting occurred near Avenue U and East 13th Street. Initial reports indicated that the victim fled the scene following the gunfire.
Authorities have since located the victim, who was transported by EMS under NYPD escort to Coney Island Hospital. The victim is reported to be in stable condition.
Preliminary information indicates that one individual may have shot another, though investigators have not yet released details regarding a motive or the identities of those involved.
The investigation is now centered on East 14th Street between Kings Highway and Avenue R, where police recovered the vehicle the victim reportedly used to flee the scene. Officers are interviewing the driver as part of the ongoing probe.
An NYPD Aviation helicopter continues to assist from overhead while officers canvass the area for evidence and possible suspects. Members of Flatbush Shomrim are also on scene assisting authorities.
No arrests have been announced as of this time, and the investigation remains active.
