One Victim of Friday’s AM Ramming Attack is in Serious Condition

The second victim of the Friday morning vehicular ramming attack near Gush Etzion Junction has sustained serious head injuries, and is undergoing emergency surgery in Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital. He is described to be a 35-year-old male.

Professor Alon Perkowsky explains “A 35-year-old male arrived from the vehicular attack in a compromised state of consciousness. He was transported expeditiously from the scene by MDA. He sustained head injuries including internal bleeding into his brain. He is in serious/stable condition.

The 70-year-old man, who was wounded in the first vehicular ramming attack nearby, at Efrat Junction South, is David Ramati. He was transported to Shaare Zedek Hospital. Speaking to reporters from his bed, he explains “the terrorist passed me, and then made a U turn and I immediately realized he wants to hit me. He saw I was unable to get my pistol out in time and while I was in the air, he struck again”.

Ramati added, “I saw the smile on his face but said ‘me, you’re not killing today’”.

IDF officials explain that after striking Ramati, the terrorist continued south a few hundred meters to Gush Etzion Junction and struck the second victim. He then exited his vehicle to stab an officer of the 50th Nachal Battalion but was shot and very gravely wounded before he could injure additional people.

The terrorist is reportedly a 17-year-old resident of the PA (Palestinian Authority) village of Halhul, just a few minutes further south of the attack sites on Route 60, towards Hebron.
