Minister Aharonovich on Kever Dovid: Trust Me, There Will Not be Catholic Mass

kdPrior to the recent visit of Pope Francis, Minister of Public Security Yitzchak Aharonovich assured Israelis that there would not be any change in any portion of Kever Dovid HaMelech. He made his promise amid rumors Israel was going to give the Last Supper Room to the Vatican for religious services.

Aharonovich also made the same promise to MK Miri Regev, who heads the Knesset Interior Affairs Committee.

Arutz 7 spoke with Rabbi Dvir Tal, who is affiliated with Yeshivas Kever Dovid HaMelech, which is affiliated with the Diaspora Yeshiva. He spoke of the event he witnessed and documented on camera.

Rabbi Tal documented that many nuns and monks affiliated with the Catholic Church took part in the mass at Kever Dovid HaMelech. Incense was used during the mass, with the odor spreading to the entire area. When participants arrived, they placed a giant crucifix in the hall. Other reports from eyewitnesses add candles were lit and placed on the floor in the shape of a cross.

Rabbi Tal explains the pain and frustration of seeing this at the kever, which is directly linked to our redemption, and it is now used for idolatry which is worse than bloodshed and incest.

It is also reported that when the Catholic worshippers arrived, they asked to keep the Jews away and police did just that. The mass documented on camera was held on a Monday at 15:00.
