TRAGEDY IN LAKEWOOD: Meshulach Struck And Killed By Vehicle On Route 9


candle914An elderly man was R”L struck and killed by a vehicle at Route 9 and 11th Street, Wednesday evening. Lakewood Hatzolah rushed to the scene, and found the man in traumatic arrest. He was transported to the hospital by Hatzolah Paramedics with CPR in progress. Tragically, doctors were unable to save the mans life, and he was Niftar shortly after arriving at the hospital.

Sources tell YWN that the man was a Meshulach (Tzedakah collector) of Russian descent from Brooklyn.

No further information was available at this time.

    We need more lighting in lakewood streets, it’s very dark at night you can hardly see people walking, specially when on a rainy night. All you need is another car coming towards you blinding you with the headlights and you can literally see nothing! It’s time to bring awareness back to all lakewood residents (including mushulachim) to always wear reflectors at night.

  3. Besides better lighting it might be a good idea for everyone to be more careful when driving. Stop using your cellphone, come to a complete stop at stop signs and SLOW DOWN!

    Just saying, 11th and Madison isn’t that dark…
    You bring up a valid issue – and what about the shidduch crisis?
    Its a problem, no doubt.
