Christie Tells CPAC Crowd He Shouldn’t Be Counted Out

chrisNew Jersey’s Chris Christie is seeking to sell himself to conservative activists as a fighter who shouldn’t be counted out as he mulls a run for president in 2016.

The Republican governor spoke Thursday at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Maryland.

He was interviewed by talk show host Laura Ingraham on stage at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center near Washington, D.C.

Christie has been facing low poll numbers in early voting states as well as a formidable fundraising challenge from former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.

But Christie said that while the son and brother of former presidents may be the front-runner among elites in Washington, he has unique appeal to voters.

He received a standing ovation from the crowd.
