Man Attacked & Injured Near Rishon L’Tzion Chabad House


mishtEldar Hughes, a 31-year-old Kfar Saba resident told police he was attacked near the city’s Chabad house on Friday night 8 Adar. The victim was returning from seudas Shabbos at the home of the Chabad shaliach when a vehicle passed and stopped. There were five Arabs inside according to his report and one began attacking him with a broken bottle, leading to a large cut to the side of his face that required sutures.

The victim was transported to Meir Hospital in the city where doctors did sew him up, both his face and his neck. He was released on Shabbos morning.

According to a Ynet report on the attack, police have stated the attack was not a hate crime and the investigation continues. The victim feels there is no doubt the attack was a hate crime, explaining at one point they tried to run him over with their vehicle, they shouted hate insults at him and “Ala Akbar” and taunted and laughed at him.

Police report the investigation into the attack is ongoing.

  1. MK candidate, Baruch Marzel, recently stated that there is no cries of racism when acts are perpetuated against Jews. It seems, from this report, that it is official police policy to obscure racist motives to crimes and vandalism perpetuated against Jews.
