Yishai Invited to Motzei Shabbos Right-Wing Eretz Yisrael Event

yachA week after the motzei Shabbos left-wing rally at Rabin Square in Tel Aviv, the right-wing will have its turn, hosting a rally in support of Eretz Yisrael. Yachad party leader Eli Yishai is among those invited to address the forum.

The event is expect to have a large turnout as advertising began weeks ago and right-wingers who oppose land concessions will wish to send a clear message three days ahead of elections for 20th Knesset. Since they booked in advance, the right-wingers locked in the motzei Shabbos before elections, compelling the left-wing to hold its event last motzei Shabbos. Organizers of the Eretz Yisrael event expect tens of thousands to attend.

Yishai is expected to push his message that his party is not only right-wing, but torani, making it unique in the current Knesset race.

  1. The question remains is whether the “right wing” (nationalists) are more concerned with implementating hareidi conscription, even if it forces Likud to form a government with anti-nationalist parties or leads to a Labor government. In the last Knesset, the decision of the right wing parties to emphasize the war on hareidim was the deciding factor.
