Tzfas Chief Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu Shlita addresses the planned demolition of Beit Knesset Ayelet HaShachar in Givat Ze�ev, calling on Defense Minister Moshe Ya�alon to retract his statements, which he refers to as a �Chilul Hashem�.

Rav Eliyahu was referring to Ya�alon accusing a few mispallalim from the shul of acting like �thugs� and their resistance to the planned demolition of the shul stems from monetary concerns, nothing more.

The rav spoke after returning from the shul, lamenting the fact the nation�s Supreme Court orders the destruction of a shul yet it prevents the destruction of the illegal Arab homes. He speaks of the justices �Who dare to lift a hand against a House of Hashem did not dare to do the same regarding 60,000 illegal Arab homes but will raze the shul. This is a most serious matter�.

The rabbi adds the defense minister refers to the shul as some sort of a temporary building, stating �I don�t know where he gets his information from�, explaining the building slated to be demolished is a beautiful permanent structure with hundreds of seats.
