Lapid And Yogev: Time to Crack Down on Illegal Weapons in the Arab Sector

lapYesh Atid party leader Yair Lapid is calling for a police crackdown on illegal guns in the Arab sector. Following the shooting attack in the Tel Aviv pub on erev Shabbos 20 Teves, which was carried out with an automatic weapon, Lapid explained the problem is there are too many illegal weapons in the Israeli Arab sector and no one is doing anything about it.

He explained “One can buy an illegal gun as easy as one enters a store and buys some seeds” (garinim) he explained, calling on Israel Police to enter Israeli Arab municipalities and confiscate the many illegal guns that exist in that community.

Lapid’s call was echoed by Bayit Yehudi MK Moti Yogev, who serves as a member of the Knesset Foreign Affairs & Defense Committee. He also called for more stringent police actions against Israel’s underworld activities, which also accounts for many illegal guns in the streets.

  1. The GOI (Government Of Israel) knows that there are large numbers of illegal weapons in the Arab community but turns a blind eye to the problem. At the same time it is the official policy of the GOI to prevent Jews from having weapons and every excuse possible is found to confiscate weapons from Jews that legally have them. Furthermore it has been the official policy of the GOI to gift Billions of Shekels of weapons, ammunition, military grade explosives, logistic equipment and training to Arab terrorist organizations.

So, what does that tell us about the GOI?

  2. for the past almost 35 years that I recall in Israel, at Arab wedding, the Arabs have a tradition of shooting off guns. Jews have complained to the police, but the police never ever went into the Arab villages to confiscate the guns.

Now it is getting even worse.

Big problem start small but are ignored.
