3 (1)Yesh Atid party leader Yair Lapid on Monday 4 Menachem Av met with leading rabbonim of the Tzohar Rabbonim organization including Rabbi David Stav, Rabbi Yuval Cherlow and Rabbi Rafi Feuerstein. The talks surrounded the need to maintain a dialogue between all Jews, including throughout the Diaspora.

Lapid announced it was an excellent meeting, thanking the rabbonim for their time. He added he spoke of the need of a new national statesman and how the nation is becoming fractured into segments and the need to unify Jews in Israel and abroad.

He stated “My biggest fear is that one day, thousands of Jews will rise up as they will no longer wish to bear the burden alone and leave the country. We will find ourselves a shattered society. Tzohar is the largest rabbinical organization in Israel. It is a leading organization that does not have political aspirations but remains interested in influencing matters connected to the Jewish People”.

  1. “Tzohar is the largest rabbinical organization in Israel. It is a leading organization that does not have political aspirations but remains interested in influencing matters connected to the Jewish People.”
Who does he think he’s kidding? All 8 men posing in the photo with him constitute the “largest rabbinical organization in Israel???” They represent themselves only, they have very little, if any, standing here. Most Israelis who want rabbinical services either turn to the Rabbanut or to the chareidi batei din. Those who aren’t interested in rabbis don’t need Tzohar either. Why should YWN foment a patently false image, as if they were an acknowledged alternative to the regular rabbinical establishment here?
