Third Body Extricated from Parking Lot Collapse in Tel Aviv

[PHOTOS IN THE EXTENDED ARTICLE] Officials involved in the ongoing search & rescue effort at the Tel Aviv underground parking lot construction site collapse  report a third body has been extricated from the rubble. Officials on Tuesday morning 3 Elul confirm that four people are still missing and hope of finding them alive diminishes with each passing hour.

IDF Homefront Command Gush Dan Commander Colonel Amir Ulo reports one person was extricated during the night and there is hope that the others trapped in the rubble are still alive – hence this is still a search & rescue operation. “Time is not working in our favor” he adds, admitting that after 30 hours, the chances of people being alive are diminishing.

The site is unstable and rescuers are operating under perilous conditions, fearing additional shifting of concrete slabs.

At present, the death toll remains at three and a total of 17 people were injured and four remain missing.
