Israeli Navy Intercepts Flotilla Of Women Attempting To Break Naval Blockade And Reach Gaza

floThe latest flotilla heading for Gaza to break the Israeli marine blockade is manned exclusively women and had hoped to arrive at Gaza on Wednesday, 3 Tishrei.

That never happened as the Israeli Navy took over control of the boat.

The boat was commandeered without violence or any resistance from the 13 activists onboard, the army said.

It was intercepted some 35 nautical miles (65 kilometers) from the Gaza coast, and was making its way slowly toward the Israeli port of Ashdod.

The two-boat flotilla left from Barcelona about two weeks ago and is carrying Swedish European Parliament Member Malin Bjork and Dr Fouzia Hassan of Malaysia among others, totaling 15 women.
