Rav Mazuz: Chareidim Must Protest Amona Too! We Are All Brothers!

mazuzHaGaon HaRav Meir Mazuz Shlita, Rosh Yeshivas Kisei Rachamim has come out with a message to the chareidi tzibur, that it too must protest against the eviction of Amona.

In one of his shiurim, the rav called on the chareidi tzibur to get out and protest too, citing how during Gush Katif the tzibur was too silent. He adds the expulsion of the Jews from Gush Katif is what led to the Cheftziba declaring bankruptcy, leaving so many chareidim in a dilemma.

The rav is recorded saying “Ariel Sharon destroyed Gush Katif on Tisha B’Av and to add another kriya, to destroy Amona on the first day of Chanukah!! We will daven ‘זממם אל תפק’ that it should not come to this. The land is ours and it is written in the Torah לזרעך נתתי את הארץ הזו, and no one is claiming ownership other than it is known at one time it was in Arab hands. However, it is known that before the Arabs were in the world, the land was ours?”

“The chareidim must participate as well. We do not always have to be [divided into] 10 parties but religious including those who vote Gimmel (Yahadut Hatorah), Degel Hatorah and the Yerushalmi faction. This is the proper and correct thing and we must protest”.

The rav adds “During Gush Katif some said ‘you deserve it for believing in Zionism and that is why this is occurring’. The chareidim then faced the bankruptcy with Cheftziba and many lost their apartments. Then came a Jew named Yitzchak Breit, a talmid chacham who said because you could not feel the pain of your brothers in Gush Katif and said ‘you deserve it’ this occurred. Help him. Protest with him! We feel your pain and those who will chas v’sholom be ousted from Amona”.

“The absurd of it all is that this will occur on the first day of Chanukah. Perhaps it will be delayed. We must stress that we are all brothers. Even the secular are brothers”.

  1. The Gedolim and leaders of Agudah, Degel and Shas do not support Amona because the settlers of Amona are wrong. Rav Shach always opposed settelment construction. Amona is illegal according to Israeli law and should not be supported. Any Chareidi ptotests should be against Amona and not for it.

  2. “We are all brothers” and we should therefore support the majority of Israeli Jews who support the Israeli government, the Israeli High Court and the IDF in opposing Amona.

  3. Wonderful address of concern by Rav Mazuz.

Next election his party headed by Eli Yishei will be in the Knesset, many frum/religious/charedi/traditional Yiddim are tired of the polarization of Kehillos. Achdus -unity is the solution of the day.

After the Gush Katif explusion, the only Charedi kehilla was Har Nof Bostoner Kehilla that was involved with the care, hospitality, lodging of those thrown out of their houses. & Some Charedim extended help on an individual basis.

THERE WILL BE SCREAMS, RALLIES, DEMOS, Tefillah groups when areas in Betar, Nvei Yakov, Emanuel, Bat Ayin, Michmas,& Yerushalayim are under siege by the NGOs of Peace Now and other Leftist groups for explusion. CHAS VSHALOM!!!

  4. 1) ‘Rav Shach always opposed settelment construction’.

Old News, since a majority of those living over the green line are Charedim. Settlement construction in the eyes of the world, UN and Arabs is anything over the green line.

Ramot, Gilo, Ramat Shlomo, Eshkol, Ir Ha’Atika, etc. etc are inhabited by a majority of Charedim so not sure how these areas differ from Amona.

    2) “the Israeli government, the Israeli High Court and the IDF'” – pays to check out the latest polls, Israeli High Court is opposed by 54% of Israelis and over 50% distrust the Israeli government.

  5. Your a crazy kanai the rabbi is right yes chareidim are very liberal but enough is enough it’s time we support our brothers instead of terror

  6. It is because of people that think like that the beis Hamikdash is still destroyed how could you have no feelings for another Jew! What a Shame!

  7. Don’t steal privately owned Arab land. Plain and simple. There is something called the rule of law.

Thankfully our gedolim have advised their representatives in Shas, Agudah and Degel not to support the Amona law.

Eli Yishai and Baruch Marzel could not even garner a seat in the knesset.

Those who fight the IDF and refuse to obey the law are the ones that lack achdus and a sense of brotherhood.

  8. ylevy613 – It is because of aveiros like stealing that the bais hamikdosh is not rebuilt. How can you not care about the word of G-d that prohibits stealing?

  9. No coment. On the authorities. I just want to know as a parent who brings neshanlms to this worls how do you put your child to such a risk when you live in shtachim?

  10. CRAZY – It is evident that your knowledge of ABSENTEE OWNERSHIP is void. Have you investigated and researched the issue? Jordan was occupying this land between 1948-1967 and awarded land – that had previous ownership to whomever they desired. No deed, papers or taxes have ever been paid on these parcels. Reclaiming absentee land ownership is ILLEGAL throughout the world especially in USA.

Is your concern as strong for those JEWISH OWNERS who have the deed and papers and have ARAB trespassers living on their inheritance for years? Are you anxiously waiting for these MANY, MANY homes to be destroyed and homes reclaimed by their Jewish owners??

“Those who fight the IDF and refuse to obey the law” –

Can I assume you are pointing fingers at AMONA and not at those who fight the IDF/police in Bet Shemesh, Arad, Meah Shearim, kevarim rallies and at Kikar Shabbos demos?

  11. Zion Flag – Why not make your legal case to the Bagatz and PM Netanyahu. They could find no legal recousrse. Amona is illegal it is theft. It is wrong.

My statement about those that attack the IDF applies equally to “those who fight the IDF/police in Bet Shemesh, Arad, Meah Shearim, kevarim rallies and at Kikar Shabbos demos”

  12. They could not find a legal recourse that the UN, Peace Now, US can agree on you meant to say as most Bagatz self-imposed, self-interpreted laws are.
