(Thursday, January 17th, 2008)

candle5.gif(Levaya pictures HERE) Hatzolah Israel tells Yeshivaworld that a hike at Nachal Darj’a for three Yeshiva Bochrim from Yeshiva Be’er Yehuda ended in tragedy this evening. According to initial reports, the three Bochrim were hiking in the Nachal, and apparently fell victim to the cold conditions and suffered from dehydration & hypothermia.

Two of the Bochrim were brothers, and one of them was R”L pronounced dead from hypothermia, while the other was transported by MEDEVAC to Hadassa Ein Kerem Hospital – where he was listed in critical condition.

The third Bochur is Boruch Hashem in stable condition, and was able to go call for help from the “Megilot” rescue services.

    Oy! Baruch Dayin Emes!

The advise from the rabanim that bachrim should not hike without authorities is not misplaced, whether in the cold or hot.

May Hashem comfort the family and they should know no more pain.
