The wife of MK (Likud) Yehuda Glick, Mrs. Yaffa Glick A”H was niftar on Monday morning 14 Teves, about a half hour after suffering another stroke.

Yehuda wrote on Facebook, “Moments ago, my beloved, the love of my life, returned her neshama to her Creator. Baruch Dayan Emmes.

Glick used Twitter to send another message, calling on the tzibur at large to increase acts of love for one another and then adds, “I am begging you to please not let the levaya of my wife be the source of argument”.

About a month after Glick was sworn in as a Member of Knesset, on an erev Shabbos, 23 June 2017, Yehuda announced his wife’s condition to the tzibur and asked for tefilos as she suffered a very serious stroke. He knew then the situation was serious. She never recovered from this initial stroke.

After a period of time, she was transferred from Shaare Zedek Hospital to long-term care in Misgav Ladach Hospital in the capital.

Prior to becoming a MK, Yehuda Glick was best known for being a Har Habayis activist, working tirelessly to persuade Jews to visit the holy site in line with halachic restrictions. This despite the fact Gedolei Yisrael over the generations, including the Chief Rabbinate of Israel, prohibit visiting Har Habayis, which they explain carries the punishment of karess. However, Glick’s rabbonim are of the opinion it is permitted, and he acts on their approval.

Back in October 2014, Glick, who had just given a lecture in Jerusalem’s Begin Heritage Center, was shot at point blank range by an Arab terrorist and seriously wounded. The attack was a response to his Har Habayis activities. B’chasdei Hashem, with his wife at his wide, he made a total recovery, later to become a MK.

Remaining an outspoken activist for Har Habayis, he has been the subject of many death threats and has a special security detail with him as he travels from his home in the S. Hebron Hills to Jerusalem. In one case, a video was made and released showing him getting out of his vehicle near his home, watched by terrorist who assassinate him successfully this time.

The levaya began at 3:30pm in the Kehillos Yerushalayim Hesped Room in Har Menuchos. The family will be sitting shiva in Yishuv Otniel in the Southern Hebron Hills, where the nifteres lived.
