Tel Aviv Chief Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau Shlita has come out requesting people set aside a separate chair at this year’s seder table for Gilad Shalit.
Echoing the call from Mrs. Aviva Shalit on Wednesday, Gilad’s mother, Chief Rabbi Lau stated that such a symbolic act is most appropriate as we commemorate our exodus from bondage in Egypt, and yet, this yomtov, Gilad marks his fourth Pesach in Hamas captivity, still waiting a visit from a representative of the International Red Cross or other humanitarian agency.
