US Studying The Realities Surrounding Moving Its Embassy From Tel Aviv To Jerusalem

1Representatives of the House Subcommittee on National Security are reportedly in Israel for 24 hours to study the realities surrounding moving the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem as President Donald trump announced he would do if elected.

The American delegation arrived on Shabbos in the hope of getting a close-up look at the realities surrounding such a move. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has not come out overly enthusiastically over the move, and it is rumored that it is he, not US President Trump, that is preventing it from occurring.

The PA (Palestinian Authority) has been audible in its opposition, warning the ramifications would include the end of the so-called ‘two state solution’.

During their brief stay, committee members are scheduled to meet with PM Netanyahu and other state officials to discuss a possible site for a new embassy. MK Yehuda Glick is also scheduled to provide them with a historical overview of Yerushalayim.

The delegation is led by Florida Republicans Congressman Ron DeSantis and Congressman Dennis Ross and it is charged with learning about the ramifications and security implications of moving the US Embassy to Jerusalem.

It is questionable if this is the real mission as one questions just how much can be learned in a 24-hour mission surrounding the controversial move.

  1. If Trump meant what he said during the campaign, that he would move the US embassy to Jerusalem, he would be sending carpenters and bricklayers and stonecutters, not Congressman, to build an embassy. I wonder whether Ladbrokes is accepting bets on this issue, and at what odds.

  2. N.B. “Netanyahu has not come out overly enthusiastically”
