The Girl With the Story The Shadchan Couldn’t Believe

Sara Ben David, 19, was just 5 years old when she lost her mother in the infamous Shmuel HaNavi bus bombing. Just one month later, her father passed away from illness. Within a matter of days, a little girl had gone from normal child, to alone in the world.

In the years that passed little Sara was adopted four times, by four different families. She quickly learned to be self-sufficient and brave, working strenuous jobs to support herself. She now lives in the Ramot neighborhood of Jerusalem with her most recent adoptive family.

Sara’s story recently took a turn for the positive: She is engaged to be married. However with her adoptive family unable to help her financially, she has been put in a humiliating position. Having lost her parents, and lived with so many families since, no one has saved up to make sure that she could have the things that a bride needs.

Missing a wedding dress, a place to stay, even linens and kitchen utensils, Sara is now desperate to start this new chapter of her life. “Now I can, with Gds help, have a family of my own,” says text on her hachnasas kallah campaign page. It is an orphan’s dream: To have a chance at a new life, and a loving famly of her own.

Sara desperately needs help from strangers, however, to keep this dream from turning into a nightmare.  Those who want to contribute to her kallah fund can do so here for a limited time.
