Yesterdays fire in Monsey Park Home For Adults

(Friday, December 1st, 2006)

Residents of an adult home were evacuated last evening following a fire in an elevator shaft, police said yesterday. The fire at the Monsey Park Home for Adults was reported at 7:51 p.m. Wednesday.

Volunteers from the Monsey Fire Department responded and put the blaze out using extinguishers.

Residents were allowed back into the facility at 9 p.m.

The adult home has been the scene of numerous fires over the past several years.
