The Federal Emergency Management Agency has approved $68 million for New Yorkers so far who were hit hard by tropical storms Irene and Lee.����
FEMA says more than 34,000 upstate New Yorkers have registered for aid so far, which comes in grants and loans.����
FEMA is also granting an extension for registering so that people put out of work because of Irene can apply for disaster unemployment aid.����
So far almost $8 million has been approved for Schoharie County, one of the hardest hit areas.
