Senator Chuck Schumer is asking the Federal Trade Commission to open an investigation of Apple and Android phone platforms that allow apps to steal private photos and address book information without the consumers consent.
While they are telling you what movies are playing nearby they are also going through your files and using it for other purposes, Schumer said.
Hes also asking the manufacturers to put safety measures in place to protect their customers privacy.
It sends shivers up the spine to think that ones personal photos, address books and who knows what else can be obtained and even posted online with the consumers consent, Schumer added.
