Fatal Choking Incident Claims Infant�s Life in Elad

When Ichud Hatzalah EMTs arrived on the scene on Shemaya Street in Elad on Sunday night the 9th of Shevat 5773, they found a lifeless three-months-old girl in a carriage. They immediately began resuscitation efforts.

It appears the young child choked to death on a plastic bag left in the carriage. The child R�L died during the night in the hospital.

Ichud EMT Ze�ev Teffer explained the infant was found with the plastic bag by her mouth. �Together with other Ichud EMTs from Elad we began resuscitating her and then transported to the hospital.�

When police arrived they saw the plastic bad near the carriage. An investigation has been launched to determine if the parents will face charges of negligence in the infant�s death.

  2. The plastic bags used for sandwiches and the like in Israel are very thin and dangerous-time to ban them. This is not the first choking tragedy due to plastic bags -oy rachmanus!!
