Occupy Wall Street Groups Plan ‘May Day’ Rallies


owssActivists are gathering around the city today, also known as May Day and International Workers’ Day. Members of Occupy Wall Street are joining labor, immigrant rights and student activists for a series of events to call for economic equality.

Rallies are planned in several parts of Manhattan including Bryant Park, the Financial District and Union Square where protestors will gather at 4 p.m.

Tens of thousands are expected at that rally.

Demonstrators will march down Broadway a little after 5 p.m., and a closing rally is planned outside City Hall at 6 p.m.
