New York City police say an autopsys finding that an officer shot an armed domestic violence suspect in the back makes sense given the chaotic circumstances.
Police say 39-year-old Gregory Edwards fired his gun twice before an officer fatally shot him Tuesday on Staten Island. Another officer was wounded in the hand.
The medical examiners office said Wednesday that Edwards heart, aorta and right lung were damage by the gunshots.
Police say Edwards immediately became combative with officers, whod tried subduing him with a Taser and grabbed his hands to direct his guns muzzle away from people.
An organization thats represented Edwards in court called for the release of body camera footage of the scrum, as well as the officers names.
The Legal Aid Society says police must work to de-escalate such situations.

Sounds like they actually did de-escalate the situation. Much better to take care of things permanently than to have the animal come back to haunt us.
