Newly-appointed Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi David Lau met with rabbonim of Israel�s Ethiopian community. These qasims (rabbonim) held a first meeting with Rabbi Lau, with Chief Ethiopian Rabbi Yosef Hadani acting as a go-between. Rav Hadani had words of praise for Rabbi Lau and his warmth towards the Ethiopian community. �It is important for you to realize that you have a true friend in the Chief Rabbinate who will do what he can to assist you and the community� stated Rav Hadani.

Rav Lau spoke of his planned changes regarding marriage registration in the Ethiopian community to facilitate the process.
