Sen. Patrick Leahy, Who Will Preside Over Trump Impeachment Trial, Taken To Hospital

Sen. Patrick Leahy was hospitalized out of an abundance of caution on Wednesday, just hours after presiding over the opening of former President Donald Trump’s second impeachment trial.

“This evening, Senator Leahy was in his Capitol office and was not feeling well. He was examined in the Capitol by the Attending Physician,” his spokesperson David Carle said in a statement. “Out of an abundance of caution, the Attending Physician recommended that he be taken to a local hospital for observation, where he is now, and where he is being evaluated.”

As the Senate president pro tempore — the longest-serving senator of the majority party — the 80-year-old Vermont Democrat is presiding over Trump’s impeachment trial in lieu of Chief Justice John Roberts. Roberts, who oversaw Trump’s first impeachment trial, chose not to oversee the proceedings because Trump is no longer in office, according to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.

  1. Rats: Again, your going downhill quickly. Yussel (aka Sen Durbin) just announced the Senator from Vermont will likely be released tonight or tomorrow but in plenty of time for the Trial next month. I know the past month has been difficult for you and your chevrah but be careful what you wish for since such wishes sadly tend to rebound to you.

  2. Rats: Update. The senator is already released and home. Apparently, when you are mispallel for something the Ebeshter has instructed that the outcome be exactly the opposite. Sort of like when a few months ago when you were mispallel for the Trumpkopf to somehow win the election.
Keep up the good work with your fiends in shamayim.

  3. This is a Divine message:- Drop this illegal impeachment trial of a private citizen, and work on getting Corona shots available & dispatched.
Remember haShem is watching over your wickedness.
