Knesset Foreign Affairs & Defense Committee Chairman MK (Kadima) Tzachi Hanegbi came to the defense of IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi, whose presence at Tuesday�s committee session was challenged by MKs Dr. Yossi Beilin (Meretz) and Limor Livnat (Likud).

Hanegbi stated that the attack against Ashkenazi was �unfounded�, expressing his �disgust� with the MKs� objections and attitude towards the military commander.
