Volunteers from the American Heart Association have held a mass CPR demonstration in a New York legislative building to urge lawmakers to require CPR training in high school.
About 100 people gathered at last Tuesdays event, which featured the stories of people whose lives were saved when someone performed CPR on them.
Legislation to make CPR training a requirement for a high school diploma is pending in the Legislature.
Advocates say the training can be done in as little as 30 minutes.
Sixteen states already have the requirement.
