President Donald Trump says the U.S. military struck three sites in Iran, directly joining Israel ’s effort to decapitate the country’s nuclear program.
Donald Trump posted the following at 7:45 on Shabbos afternoon:
“We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. All planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home. Congratulations to our great American Warriors. There is not another military in the World that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE ”
The decision to directly involve the U.S. comes after more than a week of strikes by Israel on Iran that have moved to systematically eradicate the country’s air defenses and offensive missile capabilities, while damaging its nuclear enrichment facilities. But U.S. and Israeli officials have said that American stealth bombers and a 30,000-lb. bunker buster bomb they alone can carry offered the best chance of destroying heavily-fortified sites connected to the Iranian nuclear program buried deep underground.
Iran’s state-run IRNA news agency early Sunday acknowledged an attack on the country’s Fordo nuclear site.
Fox News host Sean Hannity said shortly after 9 pm EST that he had spoken with Trump and that six bunker buster bombs were used on the Fordo facility.
Hannity said that 30 Tomahawk missiles fired by U.S. submarines 400 miles away struck the Iranian nuclear sites of Natanz and Isfahan.
According to Fox, President Trump sent several decoy bombers west over the Pacific to distract Iranian forces, while the actual B-2 bombers struck from the east without detection.
IRANIAN STATE MEDIA: “Mr. President, you started it & we will finish it.”
Fox News’ Jennifer Griffin: “18 years since I’ve been at the Pentagon, I’ve never seen such operational security. There was nobody speaking about this….There was a complete lockdown, almost a blackout of information…There were no leaks.”

If this comes off , it is a gigantic “win win” for Trump. It will intimidate China (vis a vis Taiwan) and Russia (vis a vis Ukraine). It will enable him to get his MAGA (“America First”) in line, while appealing to traditional Republicans. And it will make the Democrats seem like a bunch of unpatriotic wimps (which isn’t hard to do, but still counts for something).
