Mossad chief David Barnea visited Washington this week to request US help in persuading countries to accept hundreds of thousands of Palestinians from Gaza, two sources told Axios.
Barnea told White House envoy Steve Witkoff that Israel has been speaking with Ethiopia, Indonesia, and Libya, which have expressed openness to accepting large numbers of Gazans.
Barnea proposed that the US offer incentives to the three countries to accept Gazans.
However, Witkoff was noncommittal, and it is unclear if the US will cooperate on the issue.
In February, US President Donald Trump proposed removing the two million Palestinians from Gaza. However, the White House later received significant pushback from Arab countries, causing them to cool on the idea.
