On Wednesday, top officials from the NYPD Highway Division—including Inspector Connor Wynne, Commanding Officer of the Highway District, and Inspector Daniel Shouldis, Commanding Officer of Highway 2—joined NYPD Chief Richie Taylor and other NYPD officials for a day-long tour meeting with key Brooklyn-based volunteer safety organizations.
The visit began at Misaskim headquarters in Boro Park, where the NYPD delegation received an in-depth briefing on the organization’s vital crisis response work and services provided to families in times of tragedy.
The group then traveled to the Flatbush Hatzolah garage to meet with organizational leadership from the Flatbush, Boro Park, Canarsie, and Williamsburg divisions. Rabbi Yechiel Kalish, CEO of Chevra Hatzolah, participated in the meeting and spoke about the volunteers’ lifesaving efforts and collaboration with city agencies.
Later, the delegation stopped at the Boro Park Shomrim office, where they met with coordinators from Boro Park, Flatbush, and Crown Heights to discuss crime prevention, rapid response, and neighborhood safety strategies.
The day concluded with a visit to Chaverim, where the NYPD leaders met with coordinators from the Boro Park and Flatbush divisions to discuss the group’s vital role in non-emergency assistance and community support.
