HISTORIC SHIFT: WZO Certifies Recent Election, Confirming Frum And Right-Wing Majority For First Time Ever

The results of the 2025 World Zionist Congress elections were officially certified this week, confirming a dramatic shift in representation: for the first time, frum and right-wing slates together hold a majority in the American delegation.

The certification followed months of disputes over voting irregularities, including fraudulent ballots, that were ultimately resolved by the American Zionist Movement’s election tribunal and the Zionist Supreme Court in Jerusalem.

According to the American Zionist Movement, which oversees the U.S. elections, a record-breaking 224,969 valid votes were cast—nearly double the turnout of 2020 and the highest in history. Twenty-two slates competed for 155 American seats, which make up almost one-third of the body’s elected membership. Delegates from across the world will join representatives from Israel at the 39th World Zionist Congress in Jerusalem, scheduled for October 28–30.

The World Zionist Congress, founded by Theodor Herzl in 1897, determines the allocation of over $1 billion annually through the World Zionist Organization, the Jewish Agency for Israel, Keren Kayemet L’Yisrael (JNF-KKL), and Keren Hayesod. Decisions made at the congress affect Jewish education, settlement initiatives, and the character of Jewish communal life in Israel and the Diaspora.

This year’s results highlight the growing presence of the Orthodox community within the WZO’s political framework. Am Yisrael Chai captured 21 seats, while Eretz HaKodesh secured 19. Combined with the Orthodox Israel Coalition–Mizrachi, which won 18 seats, the religious bloc now holds significant influence, an outcome unthinkable just a decade ago.

Other religious and right-wing groups also gained ground, while some centrist and progressive factions lost strength. The Reform movement’s “Vote Reform” slate remained the largest single faction, winning 33 seats, though fewer than the 39 it held in the last congress. The Conservative movement’s Mercaz USA gained modestly to 19 seats, while progressive lists such as Hatikvah dropped sharply.

The elections were not without controversy. Shas was initially disqualified over ballot issues but was later reinstated with two seats. Achdut Israel, another slate, was disqualified completely after investigators found evidence of fraudulent registrations.

Smaller groups also managed to carve out a presence. Aish Ha’am, linked to Aish HaTorah, secured five seats, while newcomers like Kol Israel, Vision, and the Israeli American Council each won four.

  1. The EH liars and propagandists first trumpet how the “religious” parties – which really means “Religious Zionist” idolaters/heretics – got 58 seats, including EH with their massive lies and propaganda at frum Jews for 5 years now.

Only after that do they mention the numbers for each of Reform and Conservative and they don’t bother mentioning that Progressive got 8, which, all together, is already larger (60) than their 58, not to mention all the smaller non-religious parties that, all together, far outnumber the “Religious Zionist” parties including EH propagandists and liars.

Bottom line: The 58 seats of EH and its fellow “Religious Zionists” are around a third of the total American seats, and a much smaller fraction of the total seats. In other words, they’re unable (never mind unwilling) to help the frum Jews, at best; more accurately, they have hurt and betray the frum Jews and the Torah.

EH are wicked liars and propagandists, some of which can be seen in the PDF “In their own words” at the harehbetzba .com site.

  2. The anti-zionist wing of the Torah world loses its fight to alter public opinion, AGAIN. The war against Herzel is over. Lets move on. The political state is a reality and we have achrayus to do what we can to influence the government in a positive fashion to support Torah learning, yeshivos and kollelim, outreach institutions, shabbos observance, and the public dissemination of Torah ideals.

  3. If all these majority orthodox people can all be 100% leshem shamaim and be the emissaries of the gedolei Yisrael, then maybe.
If not, this is not a win for the orthodox.
It is a HUGE CATCH for the the Zionists. They bagged a majority of orthodox into their web in one fell swoop. And they themselves lobbied and voted themselves into it. That’s already a dangerous mental switch…much like democracy where the people vote in their own overlords and never question the inversion of the hierarchy that becomes the norm the moment the elections are done.

  4. In politics- once there were Chilonim who you could talk to.
Now only Mesoratim and further right oterwise you are dealing with the Erev Rav or Amalek

  5. It’s incredible that these orgs would celebrate when they’ve all been found guilty of widespread fraud. Another completely unsurprising betrayal of values and basic decency by the so-called “Torah-true” crowd.

  6. What an amazing זכות for all of us who were smart enough to vote and for all the Rabbis who implored us to vote:- & what a horrible קיטרוג for anyone who didn’t bother voting & even more so for anyone who had the audacity to dissuade the masses from voting in this unbelievably important election.

  7. And now that the religious Jewish organizations did do well and money’s are to be given out every yeshiva and rebbe that said don’t vote will have their hands out for their share Money talks just watch

  8. @israeli doc:
In the Jewish faith, we try to follow the Torah, not public opinion. And the “war against Herzl” is a red herring. The war is by the Zionists against the Torah, which is definitely not over – just look at any day’s headlines.

From which bible did you derive the “achrayus” to violate numerous severe prohibitions in joining the WZO? Oh, that would be Zionism, of course, which is the opposite of Torah.
