As part of the bi-annual tradition, the Kosel Heritage Foundation has begun removing kvitlach from between the stones of the Western Wall ahead of Rosh Hashanah, a process also done before Pesach. The notes are carefully removed without metal tools, the stones inspected for safety, and the collected kvitlach are buried in a genizah on Har HaZeisim.
