President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that Israel has agreed to an initial withdrawal line, which has already been presented to Hamas. “When Hamas confirms, the Ceasefire will be IMMEDIATELY effective, the Hostages and Prisoner Exchange will begin, and we will create the conditions for the next phase of withdrawal, which will bring us close to the end of this 3,000 YEAR CATASTROPHE. According to Trump’s map, the initial withdrawal line reflects Israel’s approximate positions in Gaza before last month’s major offensive in Gaza City, when the IDF controlled about 70% of the Strip. The plan would leave Israeli forces in control of key areas in southern Gaza — including Rafah and Khan Younis — as well as much of the north and portions of a security buffer zone across the territory.
