President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that Israel has agreed to an initial withdrawal line in Gaza, which has been shared with Hamas. He stated, “When Hamas confirms, the ceasefire will be immediately in effect, hostages and prisoner exchanges will begin, and we will set the stage for the next phase of withdrawal, bringing an end to this 3,000-year catastrophe. According to Trump’s map, the withdrawal line reflects Israel’s pre-offensive control in Gaza, prior to the recent Israeli operation that captured approximately 70% of the territory, including Gaza City.

This means the IDF will retain positions in southern Gaza’s Rafah and Khan Younis, as well as parts of the northern Strip and buffer zones.
