In response to Hamas’ violation of the ceasefire, the IDF and Shin Bet eliminated two Hamas terrorists, including one involved in holding Israeli hostages Nimrod Cohen, David Kunio, and others.

Those killed were Abdallah Abu Shmala, head of Hamas’ naval array who took part in the 2014 Zikim infiltration and helped plan the October 7 maritime attack; and Fadi Abu Mustafa, who helped hold Israeli hostages including Cohen, Kunio, and additional hostages in Hamas tunnels.
