The Hamas terror organization on Motzei Shabbos warned that the ceasefire is over after a terrorist opened fire at IDF soldiers, and the IDF responded with a series of airstrikes in Gaza, eliminating five senior terrorists.

The incident began on Shabbos morning when a Hamas terrorist crossed the Yellow Line, exploiting the humanitarian aid route in the area, and opened fire at IDF soldiers.

B’Chasdei Hashem, no soldiers were injured, and troops returned fire, eliminating the terrorist.

The IDF responded to the violation by carrying out a series of airstrikes, eliminating five senior Hamas terrorists. On Motzei Shabbos, the Saudi outlet Al Arabiya reported that following the IDF strikes, Hamas told US envoy Steve Witkoff that “the ceasefire is over and Hamas is ready to fight.”

The source added that “the ceasefire must be mutual” and “Gaza won’t be another Lebanon,” referring to Israel’s continued strikes against Hezbollah targets who continue their terror activities against Israel.

However, no official statement was issued, and a Hamas spokesperson later denied the report.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s office issued a statement on Motzei Shabbos saying, “Today, Hamas violated the ceasefire again, sending a terrorist into Israeli-held territory to attack IDF soldiers. In response, Israel eliminated five senior Hamas terrorists.”

“Israel has fully honored the ceasefire; Hamas has not. Throughout the ceasefire, dozens of Hamas terrorists have crossed the Israeli lines to attack our troops while they execute Palestinian civilians in Gaza. We again call on the mediators to insist that Hamas fulfill its side of the ceasefire and President Trump’s 20-point plan. Hamas must immediately return the three deceased hostages it is still holding and complete its disarmament and enable the total demilitarization of Gaza.”

An American source quoted on Walla said, ““The US is aware of the Israeli strikes and fully understands Israel’s need to defend its soldiers in Gaza after they were attacked.”
