U.S. Central Command has opened its second regional joint air defense command post at Bahrain’s Ras Al Bar Camp, following a similar post in Qatar last month.

CENTCOM commander Brad Cooper called Bahrain “an essential partner in regional security” and said the new post represents a major step in strengthening the region’s air defense network.
