A Muslim man is the hero civilian who was armed with nothing but his body amd charged a Sydney gunman and wrestled his weapon away.

He has since been identified by his family as Ahmed al Ahmed, a 43-year-old father of two. According to relatives, al Ahmed suffered two gunshot wounds to his arm during the confrontation and remains hospitalized. His condition was not immediately disclosed, but his family said his injuries were sustained while stopping the attacker.
