A dramatic incident took place on Sunday in Haifa, when police officers in civilian clothing arrived at the home of a talmid of Mir Yeshiva in Jerusalem.
After realizing that it was police officers at the door, the bochur locked the door of his home and jumped to the neighboring home from the roof.
Meanwhile, bnei yeshivos arrived at the scene after being alerted by the Tzeva Shachor alert system, and his arrest was thwarted.
The bochur told Kol Chai: “A short while ago, I was at home and was preparing to leave for Jerusalem to return to yeshiva. Suddenly, there were loud knocks at the door. My little sister looked through the peephole, suspected that they were Arabs, and burst into tears.”
He continued: “I approached the door and realized they were police officers. I immediately locked the door while they were trying to force it open. I understood right away that they had come to arrest me. I spoke with someone from the Tzeva Shachor system who instructed me to try to escape and, at the same time, alerted the public.”
“We have two floors in our house. I immediately went up to the second floor, went out onto the roof, and from there made my way into the neighbors’ house, while watching the attempted arrest from the street below.”
