Iran’s Supreme Leader has appointed Ahmad Vahidi as deputy chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, replacing Ali Fadavi.

Vahidi has been linked to the 1994 bombing of the Jewish community center in Buenos Aires and is sanctioned by the United States for his role in the crackdown on protests following the 2022 death of Mahsa Amini.
