El Al announced new measures aimed at easing travel concerns for passengers, introducing a temporary free cancellation option and expanding customer service capacity in response to growing speculation about a potential U.S. strike on Iran spilling over into retaliation against Israel.
The airline said the new service, branded “Flight with Peace of Mind,” will be available to customers purchasing new tickets starting Monday and will remain in effect for the next two weeks.
Under the program, passengers will be able to cancel their flights for any reason up to 48 hours before departure and receive a full credit voucher. The service will be offered at no additional charge for flights departing from and arriving at all El Al destinations through March 17.
The policy does not apply to LITE tickets or bonus tickets, the airline said.
At the same time, El Al announced it is increasing the capacity of its 24/7 customer service centers due to a surge in passenger requests to modify or cancel existing flights.
The airline cautioned that despite the expansion, customers may still experience delays and extended wait times as call volumes remain high.
In a statement, El Al emphasized its commitment to maintaining operations and supporting travel to and from Israel during the current period of instability.
“El Al will continue to operate in order to be the air bridge to and from Israel and to offer flexible and accessible solutions to our customers and the general public,” the airline said.
