The IDF carried out airstrikes deep inside Lebanon on Friday, killing a number of Hezbollah terrorists at three command centers in the Baalbek area of the Beqaa Valley in eastern Lebanon.
The IDF issued a statement saying that the strikes “killed a large number of terrorists belonging to Hezbollah’s missile units.”
“The terrorists were recently identified operating to accelerate readiness and force build-up processes, planning missile fire toward Israel and advancing terror plans that endanger IDF soldiers and Israeli civilians. The missile units are responsible for firing missiles and rockets toward Israel and is currently planning such fire into our territory.
“The terrorists’ activity constituted a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon.”
Hezbollah confirmed the deaths of eight terrorists in the strikes, including a senior commander.
The IDF also carried out a strike on a Hamas command center in southern Lebanon, killing two terrorists. A statement from the IDF said that the terrorists were engaged in preparations to carry out terror attacks against IDF soldiers and Israelis.
