U.S. Military Planes Appear at Israel’s Main Airport Amid Middle East Buildup

American refueling and cargo aircraft were spotted at Ben Gurion Airport on Monday.  The aircraft arrived over the past 24 hours as Washington increases its regional footprint while President Donald Trump weighs potential military action against Tehran.

Israeli authorities have not publicly commented on the presence of the U.S. planes at the country’s main civilian airport. It remains unclear whether the aircraft are stationed in Israel temporarily as part of routine stopovers or are linked to broader operational planning.

According to the Military Air Tracking Alliance, which monitors government and defense-related flights using open-source intelligence, more than 85 American fuel tankers and over 170 cargo aircraft have entered the Middle East since mid-February.

Analysts say such aircraft are critical to sustaining large-scale military operations, enabling long-range strike missions, troop movements, and rapid resupply.

“The volume of tanker and cargo traffic suggests preparations for extended operations,” one regional security analyst said. “These assets are essential if the U.S. intends to maintain pressure or act quickly.”
