Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of the recently eliminated Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and a senior IRGC official who is likely to be chosen as the next supreme leader, owns two luxury apartments directly overlooking the Israeli Embassy in London, raising serious security concerns, the UK’s Daily Mail reported on Motzei Shabbos.

The report comes shortly after four Iranians were arrested in north London for spying on shuls and those who attend them.

“Iran owns the view into the back of the Israeli embassy from less than 50 meters away,” said Roger Macmillan, a counter-terrorism specialist. “Two apartments, direct line of sight, held through Mojtaba Khamenei. That’s not a property portfolio—it’s a permanent surveillance platform. This is a serious security breach.”

A spokesperson for Transparency International said: “We now know that Iran’s political leaders have invested heavily in the UK over the last 10 years.”

“Failure to build effective defenses to tackle money laundering in the UK has national security implications, leaving our financial system vulnerable to leaders from hostile, kleptocratic states and cronies who finance their regimes.”

Mojtaba Khamenei’s sixth and seventh-floor apartments, which include domestic staff quarters on the ground floor,  are worth over £50 million. They not only overlook the Israeli embassy but are also a “stone’s throw” from Kensington Palace, the official residence of the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Although Khamenei, 56, has owned the apartments for over a decade, his ownership was only revealed after a year-long investigation by Bloomberg News.

Khamenei also owns 11 mansions in Hampstead, North London, through a shell company registered in the Isle of Man.

According to the Bloomberg investigation, the funds for Khamenei’s global property portfolio came from Iran’s sanction-busting oil program.
