Judge Orders University of Pennsylvania to Provide Data in EEOC Probe on Jewish Discrimination

A federal judge ruled Tuesday that the Trump administration can require the University of Pennsylvania to provide information on Jewish individuals on campus as part of an investigation by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

• Judge Gerald J. Pappert ordered Penn to comply with the subpoena by May 1, saying the university’s “constitutional claims are easily dispensed with”.

• The investigation, launched in 2023, is examining potential workplace discrimination against Jewish faculty and staff and could shape similar probes at other universities.
