REPORT: U.S., Iran Near Deal As Backchannel Talks Show Progress


Fresh progress has reportedly been made in backchannel talks between the United States and Iran, with a Pakistani source involved in mediation saying both sides are moving closer to a potential agreement.

According to the source, an upcoming meeting could lead to the signing of a memorandum of understanding, followed by a broader comprehensive deal within the next 60 days.

Discussions have also focused on sanctions relief and Iranโ€™s stockpile of highly enriched uranium, with signs of possible compromise emerging as negotiations continue.
