The Knesset approved a law creating a special military tribunal to try roughly 300 Palestinian terrorists captured during the October 7 massacre, with 93 lawmakers voting in favor and none opposed.
• The tribunal will prosecute suspects for crimes including genocide, terror offenses, harming Israeli sovereignty, assisting the enemy during wartime, and causing war.
• Those convicted under Israel’s genocide law could face the death penalty, while the legislation also bars October 7 terrorists from being released in future prisoner exchange deals.
• Justice Minister Yariv Levin called the vote “one of the most important moments of the current Knesset,” while MK Yulia Malinovsky said the trials would be “the trials of the modern-day Nazis.”
