Bill Maher marked Israel’s 78th birthday by joking that everyone should either wish the country a happy birthday “or admit they’re anti-Semitic.”

Maher argued people hide behind criticism of Israel, Zionism or Netanyahu while ignoring worse human rights abuses elsewhere, saying: “That’s how you know it’s antisemitism – the inconsistency.”

He closed with a blunt line: “No Jews, no news.”
