MK Prof. Aryeh Eldad announced his new Hatikvah Party, stating the leader will be determined by registered members in a primary election.

Eldad opted not to join the new right-wing bloc along with his Moledet and other right-wing colleagues, explaining for him, the event was a sad one. �They took my party after four years in Knesset and turned it into a religious party�.

During a press conference announcing his party on Tuesday, Eldad stated 60% of the population identifies itself as right-wing but the right-wing is divided.

�We will serve as a home for those disenchanted with Likud who fail to understand the policies are of Binyamin Netanyahu and Avigdor Lieberman.�
